The stock Madone exploring The Land Down Under. This image was taken in Southland, New Zealand, just outside of Nelson.

My partner and I spent over a year Down Under exploring Australia and New Zealand. While we were hunkered down in Melbourne, I worked at a TREK concept store and jumped at the opportunity to get a Madone.

This bike is a speed demon that handles incredibly well. The integration is amazing, albeit a bit of a nuisance while traveling. The stock build was good, but I've since added a few bits that take it to the next level. After I cracked the stock crank in a sprint finish at WTNC UBC, the Bici Basement acted fast and got a Dura Ace R9100 installed in less than a day, crucial for my race weekend at Tour De Bloom in Wenatchee, WA.

Here's an image of my race-ready Madone with Zipp 303 Firecrest Clinchers, Continental GP 4000s rubber and an Easton EC90 handlebar; I have no excuses!
