As we get ready to dive into the 2023 riding season we wanted to look back on some of our favourite rides of 2022 to stoke the fire for the upcoming season. Here's a collection of our staff's favourite MTB rides that they tackled last year.

What were the best features of the ride?
This ride has it all - creek crossings, flowy singletrack, epic climbs and challenging descents - passing through grassy meadows, forests and alpine areas with incredible views.
What was the highpoint?
2300m (also seeing a lynx)
What was your lowpoint?
When it ended.
What is your top tip for someone looking to do the same ride?
Bring a change of socks or water shoes for the creek crossings.

It’s tough but rewarding!

What were the best features of the ride?
Fresh Trails - Loose Mo0se is definitely worth the 6 hr drive North of Vancouver.
What was the highpoint?
The Gatorade I snuck in my bottle for the climb

Climbing without Gatorade for the second lap
What is your top tip for someone looking to do the same ride?
You can shuttle this, shuttling would have been fun

What where the best features of the ride?
Unreal views at the summit.
What was the highpoint?
Cresting the summit.
What was your lowpoint?
Feeling like my fingers may fall off on the hour long decent.
What is your top tip for someone looking to do the same ride?
Definitely pace the climb, she a long'en.
Why was this your favourite ride of 2022?
It was my first opportunity to test out the new mountain bike!

When did you do the ride?
During BCBR MTB in September.
What were the best features of the ride?
The descent down Big Ed was epic.
What was the highpoint?
Climbing onto the top step of the podium after stage was done.
What was your lowpoint?
The climb off the start was a tough way to get the day going.
What is your top tip for someone looking to do the same ride?
Take your time on the climb (unless you're racing), you've gotta save some energy for the descent as it was still a tonne of work.
Why was this your favourite ride of 2022?
It was definitely a huge day and the descending was technical as hell, but so fun.

When did you do the ride?
Late September.
What were the best features of the ride?
The views. Hands down. But it's all great. If you like to climb the climb is awesome, the traverse through the alpine is all time and the descent is nice and long, you earned it.
What was the highpoint?
Popping out into the Alpine and having time to traverse through the unique landscape with views for days.
What was your lowpoint?
Realizing we were running out of time and couldn't do the full out and back to "Pot Of Gold" to spend more time in the alpine.
What is your top tip for someone looking to do the same ride?
Leave early, be self sufficient. There is no easy way out once you start. Take bug spray and bear spray, food and drinks. Be prepared for sudden changes in weather.
Why was this your favourite ride of 2022?
It is one of those rides that leaves you feeling like you earned the delights. You work hard and it pays off. It left me with the feeling that the adventure itch had been scratched.
What bike did you ride?
Revel Rascal GX w Revel carbon wheels and an airshaft upgrade to take the Pike Select fork from 140mm to 150mm. This bike is light and snappy for the long climb but more than capable on the descent.
