Description
Insatiable descending hunger that climbs. Happily.
Enduro World Series tested and team-approved, the HD5 lives for ragged descents combined with real-world climbs requiring efficiency, positioning and poise. Which it delivers in spades. It' the ultimate 27.5" brawler, living to ride as hard up as down with 153mm of dw-link controlled travel and a 170mm fork. 76 degrees of climbing we'd like you to meet 64.2 degrees of descending.
Highlights
Since2005, they've partnered with suspension guru Dave Weagle on the dw-link suspension platform. It provides an unparalleled combination of climbing efficiency and downhill performance, that has been proven repeatedly at the highest levels of racing.
Their custom tuned front and rear suspension feature extra light high speed compression and rebound damping to deliver unparalleled traction. This allows the wheels to flutter through terrain like atrophy truck storming through aset of whoops. To learn more abouttheir Traction Tune philosophy, click here.
Whether you order anXTRorNXkit, you'll get the same premium carbon fiber frame. All their bikes are built from the highest-grade materials and optimized for the best strength, weight, stiffness, and ride performance.
They use names like small, medium, and large to describe our sizing because it' easy to understand, but their ultra-low standovers and clearance for long droppers give you the ability to size based onreach.
What' better than adropper post? Alonger one. Their frames are designed to accommodate the longest dropper posts possible. Riders over5'8(or173cm) can easily run a185mm dropper post, while folks between5' and5'8(152cm — 172cm) can use apost125mm or longer depending on inseam length.
Reduced-offset forks give the front wheel greater stability at speed and an additional sense of steadiness at slow speeds too. Since theHD5is designed to excel in technical, demanding terrain, they went with areduced,37mm-offset fork that gives that extra bit of confidence and control in the most challenging situations.
They pioneered the wide rim revolution afew years ago and inspired anew crop of wider2.4" — 2.6" tires. When paired together, this combo can be run at ultra-low pressures that produce elbow-dragging cornering traction without sacrificingspeed.
Internal cable routing used to be apain but our internal tubes make routing easy. Just pop the housing through and it comes out the other end, no need for swear words or apickset. It' clean and easy. As it should be.
It' all about the little Specifications. To keep your bike looking and performing at its best, they've fortified the upper pivot with asteel guard and added aplastic fender about the lower link. TheHD5also ships with apolycarbonate downtube protector and molded rubber swing arm protectors.
There if you want it, removable if you don't.
