The Yeti SB165 is ready to take on the most intimidating trails where mistakes are not an option. The SB165 has the longest travel suspension in the entire Yeti line, allowing it to take on some of the most daring descents and rowdiest technical endurance terrain. It is in its element outside of the typical comfort zone, helping make the most of your skills on seemingly impossible lines. This bike is not made to stay inside the tape, it is designed to push the limit and take on chaotic adventures. Any rider looking to push what is possible will feel at home on a Yeti SB165.
The Yeti SB165 frame is built to last and endure the punishment of an aggressive downhill rider. The frame is made of a lightweight but strong carbon fiber that is prepared to last a lifetime. This version is made with Yeti’s C-Series carbon fiber, offering stiff and lightweight performance at a lower price than their TURQ material. C-Series carbon is a slightly lower modulus material than the world class TURQ, but riders can still expect an outstanding balance of compliance, durability, and stiffness. The SB165 frame leaves no room for compromises when it comes to performance that lasts.
A carefully tuned geometry was engineered for the Yeti SB165 to thrive on the toughest terrain. It brings out the best performance in its DT Swiss E1900 27.5” wheels. A steeper seat tube angle and a shorter fork enhance pedaling ability and the bike’s climbing capabilities. When you make your way down the hill, a slacker headtube angle, lower bottom bracket, and a longer reach make it feel like a proper downhill bike. Helping bring out the best in this specially tuned geometry, the C2 version features a SRAM GX Eagle groupset for reliable trail specific shifting at a great price.
As its name suggests, the Yeti SB165 offers 165mm of rear travel, an ideal amount of shock for a downhill machine. This version includes a Fox Performance Elite DHX2 shock with a two position lever for high and low speed compression adjustments. The front of the bike adds an additional 180mm of travel thanks to a Fox Performance 38 suspension fork. The suspension is centered around Yeti’s Switch Infinity technology which utilizes a patented pivot which switches direction as the bike progresses through its travel. This creates an anti-squat curve while allowing the leverage ratio to be tuned independently. This leads to a bottomless feeling shock and outstanding pedaling performance.
