With the all-new X2, Fox has turned years of note-taking and racer feedback from the previous model and hit us with an entirely revised design. This award-winning, gravity-oriented air shock holds nothing back - especially not you!
At first glance you’ll notice an entirely new chassis for this shock, with an independent climb switch. Whereas before it simply bumped up your low-speed compression, and was in fact an afterthought, it is now purpose-built to keep you high in your travel as you climb.
With enduro-style, long travel bikes becoming more popular, Fox has also shortened the piggy-back oil reservoir to make the shock more compatible with a wide range of frame layouts.
You’ll also notice that the high-speed rebound knob has been moved to the lower eyelet. This results from Fox introducing both a high-flow main piston and incorporating their Variable Valve Control technology into the high-speed rebound circuit. They’ve also matched the Grip2 damper’s eight clicks on both HSR and HSC, to give you a better benchmark in adjusting your suspension.
Within, Fox has added structural fins to the interior of the body to make the whole unit stiffer, and added a foam bottom out bumper, similar to what you see on the new DHX2 coil spring.
The X2 offers separately adjustable high/low speed compression and high/low speed rebound via a recirculating high flow oil damper. The Extra Volume (EVOL) air sleeve significantly reduces the force to initiate travel, providing added sensitivity and better small bump compliance. The progressiveness of the spring curve can be adjusted via air volume spacers, allowing riders to fine-tune the feel of the air spring.
Changes to the air-spring’s compression ratios mean that you don’t need as many spacers to get the same progressiveness as with the previous X2. The 300 PSI max still applies.
Please note, mounting hardware sold separately for all X2 shocks.
