Proving that mechanical drivetrains can”and still should be improved, Shimano focused most of its attention on the derailleurs, making the largest changes to ride experience with crucial tweaks to both the front and rear derailleurs' designs. The resulting Dura-Ace FD-R9100 11-Speed Front Derailleur delivers strong improvements to its predecessor's shortcomings, behaving far more consistently than its often moody forebears, whose changes in attitude could be set off by cable entry angles and cable tension that didn't suit it.
